The Worst Wedding Date By Pippa Grand, Three BFFs and a Wedding, #1 SHORT REVIEW

“I liked you in high school.” The words slip out of my mouth before I can stop them. She’s scrambled my brains. And my tongue. “And you were always too good for me, but I still liked you, so I was an asshole because it was easier to push you away than to face the fact that you would forever be better than me and never give me a chance. So it’s easy to just be an asshole to you. It’s habit. I’m sorry. I’ll do better.”

-Theo

I am not the guy who had a crush on this woman in high school. I’m the idiot who still does.

I love the friend’s brother trope, but this was my first time reading it with a younger brother. I had some prejudice at first, but I still bought it and gave it a try and honestly, it was better than I expected. They both had crushes on each other beforehand, so the connection felt believable. It wasn’t a slow burn at all, though everything happens within a week, which felt a bit fast for me. I usually prefer slow burn stories, so this trope isn’t exactly my thing, but I still liked the book. I wouldn’t say it’s one I’d reread, but if I hadn’t read it already, I’d definitely want to. Also, Theo had that tattooed bad boy vibe, which was totally my thing. But underneath all that, he was a sweetheart. And Laney she had been living her whole life for her parents, putting herself last. Watching her finally start to enjoy life for herself was so rewarding.
